The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters Ltd, also known as NAATI, is responsible for setting, maintaining, testing and certifying interpreters and translators in Australia. The CCL (Credentialed Community Language) test is a certification that assesses your language skills at the community level. The CCL test evaluates one’s ability to translate dialogues from English to another language (known as Language Other Than English, LOTE) and vice versa. NAATI offers CCL testing in many languages such as Nepali, Hindi, Urdu, Bangla, Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Dutch, Indonesian, Filipino, Vietnamese, Russian, Thai, Tamil, Sinhalese, Persian, Polish, etc.
The CCL test results are published within 8 weeks of the test date and are valid for three years from the date of issue.
The best way to excel in an exam is by giving yourself enough time to understand the format of the test, prepare well ahead and not to leave things for the last minute. Our counsellors will assist you in choosing the right preparation classes for you. Get in touch with us today to confirm your enrollment.
Candidates who pass the NAATI CCL test can claim ‘5 bonus points’ towards their permanent residency application when lodging certain point-based visa applications. However, passing the CCL test will not lead to certification, which means that the successful candidate is not allowed to work as an interpreter or a translator.
The advantage of a NAATI-approved course is that students who complete the course at the standard required by NAATI are eligible to apply for NAATI accreditation without further requirements; such as taking a NAATI test.
The award of the accreditation is subject to formal confirmation of the candidates’ achievements by the educational institution and recommendation of accreditation to NAATI.
Obtaining a NAATI Accreditation can be completed in either one of the following ways:
